A Letter from Our President

Dear Members:

I am happy to welcome you into the Holistic Pediatric Association (HPA): The Alliance for Holistic Family Health and Wellness. The HPA Alliance was founded to bring together practitioners and parents like you who share a synchronistic vision:

To influence and support the transformation of the current practice of pediatrics into a safe, nurturing and sensible holistic health care system for families; and to honor and respect the innate potential of the child from pre-conception through childhood and adulthood.

I invite you to be an active member of this growing community of practitioners committed to holistic family health care; a community focused on bringing the principles of wellness, healing, growth and the safe resolution of illness into practice. In the HPA Alliance you get to network and learn from health care practitioners in such fields as pediatrics, chiropractic, family practice, women’s health care, pregnancy, birth, healing touch and more.

I am excited that parents are a big part of the HPA Alliance voice. Parents deserve to have access to a healing model of health care that reduces the use of ineffective and harmful drug treatments, and empowers them to build healthy, vibrant bodies and spirits in themselves and in their children. I look forward to the power of the collective parental voice, helping to bring the vision and the mission of the HPA Alliance forward.

As a member of the HPA Alliance, you have the opportunity to learn about and apply different modes of care that stimulate healing, recover balance, and support the body’s own resilience.

I believe children are precious gifts, who are deserving of a childhood filled with love, authenticity and truth, and passage into a safe and sustainable life as adults. In today’s world, however, the incidence rate of chronic illness in children is skyrocketing. One in 6 children has a developmental/neurological disability; 1 in 150 children has autism; nearly 6% of school-age children have a reported diagnosis of attention deficit disorder/hyperactivity disorder; obesity affects at least 18% of children and adolescents and; asthma rates in children have doubled since 1980 – 9% of all children and adolescents now have asthma.1

The HPA Alliance and I are committed to working with you to transform a culture affected by perinatal factors, dietary practices, sedentary lifestyles, exposures to increasing environmental pollutants, medical interventions, and stressed/fear-based living that have adversely impacted our vitality and our very livelihoods. Most importantly, the HPA Alliance provides you with a community of professional voices invested in safely caring for our children and families into excellent states of health.

Yours in holism,

Lawrence B. Palevsky, MD, FAAP
